How to choose an industrial heater that meets your needs

SIAL
When winter comes, it will continue to cool down across the country, and the cold weather makes us unwilling to go out. Except for some areas in Yunnan and low latitude areas such as Guangzhou and Hainan, other parts of China are really cold, and below zero is a common occurrence. At such times, we all hope to have a "weapon" that can solve the cold.
The heater will become one of our choices. It's just that the appearance, size and market value of the electric heaters in the shopping malls are very different. It's often a headache to walk around. In such a situation, how can a consumer buy a suitable electric heater? Let's take a look at the common basic working principles and advantages of various electric heating equipment together, so that we can quickly select the heater that is suitable for us, let the heater bring us warmth, and this winter will no longer be cold.

In order to better understand electric heating devices, the first step is to classify them. This article categorizes electric heating devices based on different heating methods.

Three heating methods: thermal radiation, thermal conduction, and thermal convection.

Thermal radiation transfers heat through infrared light. When we are bathed in sunlight, we feel warm, which means that the sun transfers heat to us through infrared radiation. Heat conduction is the process of heat transfer from high temperature to low temperature. Heating a handheld hot water bag is a process of heat conduction. Thermal convection is a heat transfer process caused by the mutual diffusion and fusion of cold and hot fluids. When boiling water in a kettle, the high-temperature water at the bottom and the low-temperature water at the top will form thermal convection heat transfer. Both heat transfer and thermal convection require a medium, and the heat transfer speed is relatively slow. Thermal radiation transfers heat through light, without the need for a medium, at the speed of light, so the heat transfer speed is very fast.

Common four types of point heaters.

According to the different heating methods, ordinary electric heating devices are divided into the following four types.

1. Radiation electric heating device

commonly referred to as the Little Sun, is the most common radiation electric heating device. The heating element (electric heating element) in the radiation electric heating device emits infrared light after being energized, which is concentrated in a specific direction through a reflector to achieve directional heating, suitable for local heating.

Quartz tubes, halogen tubes, carbon tubes, etc. are common electric heating elements in radiation electric heating devices. Quartz tubes and halogen tubes are relatively inexpensive, but a large amount of electrical energy is converted into visible light (visible light heating effect is not as good as infrared light), resulting in low efficiency in electric heating conversion. In addition, the brightness is strong and not suitable for bedroom use. The proportion of infrared light emitted by carbon tubes is large, while the proportion of visible light is small. The light is soft, and the efficiency of electric heating conversion is high. In addition, carbon tube has a relatively long working life and is a good electric heating element, with a relatively high market value.

Radiation electric heating devices have the advantages of instant heating, directional heating, and low noise, but they also have the disadvantages of strong light sensitivity and small heating range, making them only suitable for local heating and not suitable for heating the entire room.

2. Convective electric heating device

After being powered on, the convective electric heating device heats the surrounding air and sends heat to the entire room through the convection of cold and hot air. Convective electric heating devices can be divided into natural convection and forced convection. Natural convection electric heating device: common natural convection electric heating devices include electric oil heater, rapid heating furnace and baseboard. The natural convection electric heating device utilizes hot air to expand and rise, while cold air sinks, forming air convection to transfer heat, thereby increasing room temperature.
Electric oil heater, also known as oil filled electric heater, looks like a radiator in the north, but the radiator is filled with water, while the electric oil heater is filled with heat transfer oil. After being electrified, the heat transfer oil around the electric heating tube is heated, and the heat is dissipated along the heat transfer tube or radiator. The surrounding heated air rises, forming air convection. After power on, due to the long time required to preheat the heat transfer oil, the heating is slow when the machine is first started. However, the heated heat transfer oil also cools slowly, allowing for long-term insulation after power outage.
3. Fast heating furnace

also known as European fast heating furnace, usually has a thin sheet appearance with a large number of pores above and below. After being powered on, the temperature of the heating element in the lower part of the body increases, heating the air inside the body. Hot air is discharged from the upper part, and cold air is replenished from the lower part, causing the room to heat up and circulate. The heating element of a fast heating furnace is usually made of alloy material, without thermal oil, with high electric heating conversion rate, fast preheating, light body, and easy to move. Some fast heating furnaces are designed to be waterproof and can be used in bathrooms. The baseboard electric heating
device usually has a long appearance, with a large number of air holes at the top and bottom. Its heat dissipation principle is similar to that of a fast heating furnace, which also uses alloy materials as heating elements, with high electric heating conversion rate, large heat dissipation area, short preheating time, and fast heating speed. Due to its relatively long appearance, there are certain requirements for on-site use, and it is generally used in corners.

4. Forced convection electric heater

A common heater is a forced convection electric heating device. The basic working principle is that after being powered on, the temperature of the heating element increases, heating the air inside the body, accelerating the air to blow out hot air, generating forced convection, and increasing the room temperature, such as a hair dryer. The heating elements of an electric heater are usually wires or ceramics. There are more wires used in the market, which are cheap but not waterproof. Ceramic elements have waterproof function. Waterproof design products can be used in bathrooms, but the market value is high.
